A rather blustery day! Mum and Dad took Elsie round the park and to Lidl and I packed up the car and zoomed off! Feel really chuffed that I remembered Agi's trainer pants but then realised I forgot a trial kit for Sarah! Duh!

We had a lovely morning admiring Emma's twin sized bump and working out how to get Florence potty trained by June! All good fun, Chloe makes a lovely cup of tea too.

On packing up all my nappy clobber, I realised my 6' poster has gone missing! AHH no-where to be found! So now I'm home, have reported it as lost/stolen/blown away!!! Fingers crossed the nice man at Princesshay Security will find it....(he laughed when I told him what was on the poster!) Police 101 lady also rather amused 'people will nick anything' and 'it takes all sorts' etc!!

Sarah hubby James just popped in to collect the forgotten kit and mentioned that their baby is now 17lbs and so he needs a large kit!! Good job we were at my house and I could swap it over for the large! These things are meant to be!

Elsie is asleep and so just got time to empty the car and watch last nights Eastenders before she wakes!

The first Nappuccino of the year! We had a lovely time chit chatting and admiring all the new babies! Congratulating Sarah and Nick on the safe arrival of Owain who came to Nappuccino in his Tots Bots Teenie fits in the Christmas prints Ahhhh Lush!

Trial kits were returned and dispatched and all was well in the world!

Thanks to Lindsay and Henry for setting up and tidying away.

Not much cake left at the end so a good morning was had.

Last weeks Nappuccino was a true 'Nappy heads' morning - there is much talk about the new Tots Bots Christmas prints and as usual there was much discussion on what nappies are rocking our worlds!

We are loving the Gingerbread print! I've also got the new Tots Brights to look at too. Let me know if you fancy a look. I'll be placing an order this week.

This weekend I trialled my massive Close parent wetbag. We stayed at Ben's Mum and Dad's for the weekend taking in a busy schedule of friends and family and instead of taking my nappy bucket or borrowing a lidless one from Ben's mum I took my new totally enourmous wetbag made by close parent, it was great and totally did the job.

All nasty niffs were contained and some very wet nappies were in there as a few were rinsed out in the loo but no leaks. I reckon there were 15 nappies in there? and wipes!

Ben was happy too as the bag was much easier to fit in the car boot! I did however forget to tell him not to leave the bag on the underfloor heating when we got home and so the nappies were fairly warm when they hit the washer!!!!!

The April Nappuccino was super busy! Nicky Bowman from Devon County Council came to help with the teas, and as usual there was a buzz as the room filled with bumps and babies of all ages and sizes, we took some pictures for the next edition of the Exeter Citizen, (the free paper from the council which gets sent out in the summer) and the Peanut Butter cookies disappeared rather fast!

It's great that so many people are finding that cloth nappies is not just a lifestyle choice - it's a way of saving money and the planet! Come along and see for yourself!

It's all funded by the Devon Real Nappy Project who have given me 10 trial nappy kits for people to use at home. The kits contain everything you need to try real nappies. Lots of different fabrics and shapes, a bucket, cloth wipes and some paper liners. You really can try before you buy.

Its great to show people how easy real nappies are, once the myth of boil washing and pins has been dispelled - everyone can see it's just like washing another item of clothing.

Fleece nappies dry really quickly and there are some 'All in One' nappies which are just like washing a disposable nappy. It's not hard! and can save you loads of money. The environmental impact is huge, 9 million nappies go into landfill EVERY DAY. Thats 1 nappy in a hole in the ground every 1.1 seconds in Devon alone - frightening.

Does anyone want to borrow a Nappy kit?

I've got a few hanging about at home, its free (£50 deposit) to borrow for a month. Borrowing the kit will give you a valuable insight into just how easy it all is! Go-on DO IT! drop me an email and the kits yours for a month. It comes with full instructions so that even the most confused nappy brain will understand!

Nappuccino preparations

I always get a bit nervous 'pre' nappuccino! Will anyone come? Will thousands come and we'll run out of tea! I think Exeter needs somewhere for people to come and see the nappies and talk to other people about how it works.
There will be some nappies for sale this time too, things which were in nappy kits but which are looking tired and which aren't available anymore. Fleece liners from the kits and fleece wraps which I feel don't work as well as waterproof wraps. I hope we raise some money as I had to update the kits with new stuff and the Devon Real Nappy Project DRNP is strapped for cash!
I'm sure it will all be fine!

The site looks great so yummy! I'm really please about how bright it looks. I hope its easy for people to use!

I've been in to see my neighbour this morning again, she was telling me how 50 years ago it didn't rain for the whole of September! She used to work in a sweet shop - Dawsons, she used to get up really early to do the papers and walk through thick fog to get across town. We don't get fog like that anymore!
She told me this morning I should get a toy boy with a car (I haven't got a car), she said she'd keep it quiet from Ben!! So funny!

Finding it really hard to re-size photos - Nappy brain keeps getting in the way!

If you ever want a bolt hole from Exeter's hectic high st look no futher!
Milkshake meets in St Matthews Church Hall, Lower Summerlands, Exeter. Its run by the mums from Exeter Network Church who are a very welcoming bunch.
I only popped in to see if the lady who runs it was happy to be listed on my site and found myself having a cup of tea and a chin wag for over an hour!

Its a lovely playgroup, not too busy so if you've got a shy baby this would be perfect, gentle play, bean bags on the floor, jigsaw puzzles and loads of space.

The milkshake group has a special event on the 25th September, Rachel Waddilove - Nanny to the stars! will be coming to the group to answer questions on parenting in the early days, there will also be a baby clothes swap and I'll be taking along my nappy kit to give everyone the low down on all things 'real'. Cant wait - I had Rachel's book 'How to Enjoy the First Year' when I first had Nancy, its great, gives you tips on when baby needs to sleep and eat. I had Nancy in one hand and the book in the other! I'm babysitting for a pal tonight, little Floyd's been up a few times - asking me what I'm doing and if he can have the curtains open! this is the best though... he said 'when I close my eyes it makes me need a wee' ...there's no easy answer to that...Rachel?

Nappies, Nappies, Nappies

Wow what a week! I've met some lovely babies and talked ALOT! This morning I met William who was so lovely and tiny! His Mum and I talked about nappies and I showed her just how easy it all is! We had a cup of tea and a penguin (yum, thanks x) and they went off to get weighed.

I popped in to see my neighbour, Sylvia, who's 93! for a cuppa and a chat, she's lovely and so 'with it'.

We've run out of washing powder so this lovely sunny day is being wasted! Ben's getting some on the way home - hopefully!

Going to a new playgroup tomorrow morning...can't wait! Will let you all know what I think tomorrow.
